HOMECOMINGGGGG!
when u're stuck far far away on a boring country called brunei, u dun really realise wad's going on ard the world, or at least in singapore. when u get to choose between reading straits times or watching cable, the latter seems to be a more attractive option and tons of newspaper have become what we put our dinner plates on (and polishing the glass tables once in a while.) so i was really quite surprised when i realised how happening this swine flu was. looks like farrell and his fellow swines are whipping up a storm in the world. eh bro it's a compliment hor cos swines are female pigs which means u're the only male one and u're the king of the (swine) world. power bodoh! hahaha. anyway this non-halal flu is gonna get a sars treatment, which really irritates me cos i'll have to take temperature every single day again, especially since i'm in a government organsation which prides itself with tons of red tape. but hopefully we'll have a one month long quarrentine, heh heh heh i dun mind man i can sleep at home.
of course i'm more concerned whether bak qua and ba chor mee will be taken off the shelves cos i haven't eaten any of them for a long long time and i'm dying for some. when u're in saf, the only meat they serve is chicken and more chicken and that's what i've been eating everyday since the day i stepped foot on brunei. and it's quite amazing how many variations of curry chicken they can come up with (somehow the people here only know how to cook curry chicken).
with all that being said, i'm not worried bout catching the swine flu at all cos firstly i'm a hundred thousand miles away from farrell and his affliates and i dun think swines can swim (i knw farrell certainly can't), and secondly, i'm on the safest place on earth where swines dun even exist! i shld just extend my stay here and eat more chicken everyday eh.
anyway things are certainly looking up after a hot and boring 3 week long stay here cos i'm finally going home! EIGHT MORE DAYS. it's actually a single digit countdown now. very soon i'll be counting down by the hours :) honestly i really really miss everyone back home. especially all the blood people. whether u're pms blood, nose bleed blood or oxygen rich blood, u guys are still blood. it's kinda hard to live with non blood people, though they have been quite kind and understanding, with quite being the keyword here. and of cos it's hard to live with people who have totally different perspectives from you. they dun share the same ideologies and they can't understand yours as well, so daily conversations are purely limited to work and it gets really boring after awhile. but i guess i'll just have to live with it, and i tink i'm living with it pretty well. and of cos i miss our weekly poker sessions, i haven't played poker in a long long time and i'm feeling the itch. and sihan and shan! haha please meet up soon okie, u're my connection to the uni world and it's hedonistic lifestyle HAHA. and renee too when u come back from whichever country u're in eh, haha i lost track of where u are already. lifestyles of the rich and famous. sigghh
i've tons to catch up when i'm back home. one month of gossips, and all the lastest music (ONE MONTH OF NOT LISTENING TO RADIOOO) and happening stuff like swine flu. haha i feel like i've been in a deep deep jungle for too long. well yes i'm coming home. HOME HOME HOME HOME HOME. soon :)

forever and ever, baby.
because time is all you have in brunei, i looked through all the vj photos in my ipod yesterday, and it was bittersweet. a part of you wished u cld go back to the past, reset everything that u've done, relive those moments, cherished those whom were dear to you, and fix things before it was too late. yet another part would laugh at how naive and childish u were, protected from harsh realities, living life through rose tinted glasses.
deep inside, i'm dying to go back to the past. where life was a bed of roses with no thorns, and the sun shines bright and merry everyday.

boredom to the first degree.
Tuesday, April 14, 2009
hello friends today marks the sixth day of my one month stay in this horrible country and i'm already dying of boredom. i've no idea what the people here entertain themselves with. perhaps they sit at home all day and watch tons and tons and tons of pirated dvds, but that's not the life of an average singaporean young adult (sigh i can no longer use teenager). and i'm very sure that's not the life of average young adults all over the world.
brunei boasts tons of pirated dvd shops which litter every single corner of the streets, and this is perhaps its one and only tourist attraction (unless u tell me u're a staunch ecologist who takes interest in the rich flora and funa here). and there's this regular who's a pirated dvd fanatic and he intends to buy enough dvds to set up a pirated dvd shop in singapore after he ord. so everynight we spent 3 hours of our time in various dvd shops, though i've no idea why we have to hop from one dvd shop to another since they all sell the same dvds. besides dvds, there isn't anything much to keep ourselves entertained.
so with this in mind, i've this theory that 3/4 of the population here spends their free time secretly digging for oil in their backyards, while the remaining 1/4 are just loco people who enjoy the company of pirated dvds every single day of their lives. and i think i should start embarking on this multi billion dollar project very soon. i may even become a multi billionaire by the end of this month! there's this huge forest just behind my apartment, i shall start from there.
wish me luck folks.

HELLO FRENS! yes sadly i'm in brunei now, and i'm gonna be here for an entire freakin long month. 30 days to be exact, and i've just officially survived 2 days. 28 more days to go! haha i'm damn free here, so all i do is leech of my fren's laptop to use the internet and be an ultimate facebook stalker. but i feel quite bad though, cos i'm depriving my poor fren of his internet time. not to worry, we're all blood brothers and brothers have to sacrifice for each other yeah? hahaha
anyway, i'm living in some resort camp now. we share apartments complete with a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and of cos airconditioned bedrooms. and i can go out every night to tour brunei, though there's nothing much to see in this sad sad town. will touch on that later. so life ain't exactly hard here cos i'm more like a tourist than a soilder being forced against hia own will to come here for 30 days. or perhaps that's what i choose to believe cos it would lessen my misery. and i secretly find joy in watching my army counterparts (they share the same camp as us) suffer cos they can't book out everyday and they're there to stay for at least a year. heh heh heh
brunei is freakin freakin freakin bloody hot. if u crack an egg in the middle of the helipad in the afternoon, the egg will instantly be fried. and i suffered that same fate today. i'm literally fried. and it's gonna be that way for 28 more days. i think by the time i get home i'll be black. and brunei is freakin boring. their largest shopping centre is the size of junction 8, but half as happening. and there're no clubs or pubs or alcohol here cos it's a muslim country. the only thing they have is tons of pirated dvds. but half of them are blur and i get damn freakin irritated from watching them.
yes it's not very nice to stay in a hot and boring country. even as a tourist.

goodbye, world
as unpredictable as army is, they just told me yesterday evening that i need to go brunei for a month from this wednesday onwards. which means i'll only be back on may 6th. i'm really damn pissed off with how army works, and how little time they gave me to prepare, but i guess i'll have to leave that for later. for now, brunei awaits.
hopefully i'll be able to use the internet there, or else life would be quite miserable, save the entire collection of twilight that i just bought. haha i'm gonna set up a library there.
goodbye world. don't miss me too much.
you know you love me,
xoxo

you're my brand of heroin.
hoho! finally finally finally watched twilight. hahaha i knw i'm way outdated, but i had to wait for the dvd release to come out before downloading it. the quality of the pirated one where they filmed it off the cinema screen is unwatchable.
anyway! twilight should be classified has some fantasy alongside with dinsey's enchanted and other fairy tales, perhaps high school musical too. because unlike harry potter where the plot is slightly believable even with all that broomsticks flying and witches and wizards, twilight is absolutely unbelievable.
first of all, vampires dun glitter in sunlight, they burn to death. and then u have vegetarian vampires so that kids all over the world would see edward cullen as a protagonist and not a big bad wolf. and by some unexplained meteorological mystery, the town is always gloomy and rainy and covered in dark dark clouds. and although i perfectly understand that edward and his fellow friends are vampires and hence appear super white and pale, bella and the others are equally (if not even more) white and pale! it's either the director specially used some imba lens that make ppl appear white and pale, or the whole bunch of them really need to go sentosa for a good tan. and and and here comes the weirdest part! this seventeen year old girl has an uncanny psychotic attraction to VAMPIRES and she's willing to stick with him forever, even after she had been attacked by a vampire and faces the constant threat of turning into lunch for her boyfriend.
but of course, we don't bring our brains into a movie! that's for plays and dramas and whatever. so twilight is still a freakin imba movie hahahaa. and kirsten stewart is damn chio can (even though she needs a good tan) damn power. and she's nineteen in real life this year! how come angmoh teenagers all so chio while singapore ones are just.. erm, nvm. HAHAHA
